If it fails, it's likely you'll get some more useful feeedback as to why it is failing to install. If not, the logfiles that result from that failed installation can be used by the MVPs and other experts in the SQL Server forums to get you a resolution to the issue. I don't have an error message but i get a message saying the update was not installed. I also have backup exec controlling my backup tape library on this server and i have been having permission issues with this since the update failed. In spite of the effort Lawrence Garvin has done, the answer he has given and was marked as the answer is no solution to the problem.
