Oem product key windows xp
To resolve your concern, you have to contact your computer manufacturer for a copy of the recovery disc and also the copy of the product key. They will be able to assist you changing the product key and re-activating your copy of Windows XP.
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. If it helps, copy and paste the above into the Run dialog box. Choose the Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows radio button and then click the Next button. You won't actually be activating Windows XP via the telephone at this time.
This is just the step you have to take right now to get to the area where you can change the Windows XP product key. If you don't see the screen above but instead see a message notifying you that Windows XP is already activated, you may not have properly changed the OOBETimer value in which case you should start this process over. If that still doesn't work, which is not uncommon, you should try changing the Windows XP product key with Winkeyfinder, a popular free product key finder program that can also change the XP product key.
We like this manual process better since there's nothing to download but if it doesn't work for you, give Winkeyfinder a try. Don't fill out anything on this screen since this is part of a Windows XP activation process, something you may or may not be doing after your product key is changed. The product key in the screenshot above is not a valid Windows XP product key. It is provided for example only. This screen is only momentarily displayed. If you don't see it, don't worry.
It probably just happened too quickly to notice. You should now be seeing the Activate Windows by phone screen. This is one method of activating Windows which you're more than welcome to use. You might need to beg steal or borrow a copy of the manufacturers installation media for your laptop. When installing with one of these disks you MUST use the one from your manufacturer.
A keyfinder can pull the OEM key from a running machine if needed, but it sounds like the machine isn't running. The answer to your modified question that frankly doesn't jive with your original since you say the COA is still there and then say it's not :. If your hardware will support it, purchase and install Window 7 through a Windows 8 Professional Downgrade.
Failing that, it's time for a hardware upgrade, since any machine that is unable to run Windows 7, but requires software that will not run in Linux is likely not appropriate for the job you're asking it to do. Finally, i don't think it's a matter of you not getting an answer, you're just not getting the answer you want, and no matter how you rephrase the question you never will.
There is no magical trick to recover that key, and even if you did your media does not match, and even if it did, and you had the key, it's not even advisable to do what you're looking to do. Thats right go through the setup as normal and when it asks you to enter they key enter your OEM it should be fine along as your key is for Windows XP Pro and your Install media is Windows XP Pro, after you do the install see if you have any issues activating it if you do you need to call Microsoft to finish the activation this isn't that painful takes around 5 min Not quite sure what you mean by hardware configuration, if you are installing XP on a system that is runnig RAID you might need RAID drivers or is this a dual boot situation??.
