Car fast and furious games

Growing from a movie about street racing to a what would become superhero movies in all but name, the film series has delivered on some of the most exciting moments in film history. With the recent release of F9 and the series reportedly set to end with the eleventh film— though we don't know when that will be— many fans are wondering where else they can get their fill of car-based thrills.

Well, video games have been doing fast-paced, action-packed racing ever since Spy Hunter hit arcades in ; long before the original Fast and Furious film was even thought up.

There are a variety of games on a variety of different consoles that capture the same thrills of the films, if not more. It is well documented that the Fast and Furious franchise started as street racing films and built up to be major spectacles of fast-paced vehicular combat.

In a way, the Burnout franchise perfectly encapsulates this change as well. The Burnout series of racing games are well remembered as one of the most influential racing franchises of all time, with a major focus on high speed and death-defying maneuverability. It was Burnout 3: Takedown , however, that introduced legitimate spectacle violence.

Takedown introduced the aptly named Takedown mechanic, a system that rewarded aggressive driving against opponents with additional boosts. The Crash Mode from Burnout 2 returns, this time with the added Crashbreaker mechanic, allowing the player to detonate their car and cause even more damage.

Another staple of the Fast and Furious films is the exotic locations in which the main characters travel to, whether it's racing through the beautiful streets of Brazil in Fast Five or the heart-stopping Etihad Towers car jump from Furious 7. Though it may not allow for anything as crazy as Furious 7 's tower jump, Cruis'n World on N64 has no shortage of real world locations for players to race through, including Hawaii, Japan, Australia, China, Egypt, and many others.

This means that, yes, Cruis'n went to space before Fast and Furious ever could. You can overtake other cars and you will win more points and more cash! Follow us. Cohen secured a deal with producer Neal H. Moritz for an untitled action film for Universal Pictures, [3] and approached Walker for his idea of a dream action movie, with the actor suggesting a mash-up of the films Days of Thunder and Donnie Brasco The studio warmed toward the idea of Timothy Olyphant in the role of Dominic Toretto, due to the success of the blockbuster Gone in 60 Seconds , but he declined.

Moritz instead persisted on Vin Diesel following his performance in Pitch Black , with Diesel accepting after proposing several script changes. Upon release in June , the film shattered box office and critical expectations, and a sequel was green-lit by September.

However, Diesel declined to return for the sequel, citing the screenplay was inferior compared to that of its predecessor. Cohen also declined the sequel, opting to develop the film xXx , which starred Diesel in the lead role. To account for these changes, Universal commissioned the writers to create a standalone sequel with Walker in the lead, and brought in John Singleton as the new director.

As a result, filming was delayed by a year, and Tyrese Gibson, who worked with Singleton on the film Baby Boy , was hired as Walker's new co-star. Furthermore, the production location shifted to Miami, and was also the first entry in the series to feature long-running cast-mate Ludacris.

Universal attempted to bring back Diesel for the third installment, but he again declined due to other projects and a dislike for the script. Screenwriter Chris Morgan subsequently attempted to revive the series primarily for car enthusiasts, with new characters, focusing on a car-related subculture, and moving the series to Tokyo; the city is considered the birthplace of Asiatic cars. It is also the first film in the series to start its tradition of filming in exotic locations.

Moreover, the series were able to bring Diesel in for a cameo appearance, in exchange for the actor's production company to acquire the rights to the Riddick character. Away from the franchise, Diesel had made a string of box office or critical flops, including The Chronicles of Riddick , The Pacifier , and Find Me Guilty After discussions with Universal, the pair shared an interest in reviving the series. Given the death of the character in the third movie, the entire timeline of the franchise was altered to account for his appearance.
